Nina will respond to your voice mail within 24 hours. I will ask a few questions to determine if I can effectively address your needs. I will gladly offer you a referral if I am unable to serve you at the time of need. If you choose to receive services through my practice, I will set up an initial appointment within a few days.
2.What kinds of problems do I help with?
I am a Marriage and Family Therapists licensed by the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide psychotherapeutic services to individuals, couples whether or not married, families, and groups to help facilitate improved relationships, better coping, decreased distress, improved self-esteem, and other goals.
I am trained in and experienced with treatment for a variety of mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, which may be interfering in your current relationships and other areas of your life you are looking to improve or change.
Therapy often involves discussing aspects of your life that are unpleasant and can bring about unpleasant feelings, most often in the early stages. Therapy has been shown to be beneficial to many who go through it and participate in it. The outcome experienced varies by individual and cannot be predicted.

4.What is my clinical orientation?
I hold a Master’s Degrees in Counseling Psychology and I have been trained in a variety of theoretical orientations and frameworks. Generally, I focus on the issues, challenges, and goals that the client brings to therapy and utilize the methods I think will be most appropriate and helpful for them. One could call my clinical orientation Client Centered.
I will be happy to explain and discuss the particular method I am using at any given time. I always invite you to ask any questions that come to mind during your therapy.
5.How many visits will I need to resolve my problems?
The number of sessions varies greatly depending on the individual(s), severity of symptoms, etc. Many people experience significant gains in 10-15 sessions. We will monitor your progress every session and discuss it with you.
6.Do you accept private insurance?
I am on the provider's panel for Aetna, Blue Shield, Emplyee Resource Systems, FEI, Magellan, Healthy Families, American Behavioral, Castal Behavioral Services, HealthSmart, Victim Witness Compensation Plan, Cigna, and ComPsych. If I ams not on your insurance panel I will gladly offer you an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you would like me to communicate with your insurance carrier or advocate on your behalf, I will ask you to sign a release authorizing such contact.
7.What form of payment do you accept?
We accept checks or cash. Our fees are compatible with professional therapists in the area.

No, I am not a medical doctor and I do not prescribe medications. However, I will be able to provide you with referral to a psychiatrist if you request one or if I think that medication evaluation is warranted under your specific circumstances.
